History
The museum originated in 1969 with a single room displaying coins, farming tools, and weapons locals used. However, in 1991, Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi decided to inaugurate the Department of Antiquities and Heritage. It took the responsibility of maintaining the Fujairah Museum.
Finally, in the same year, Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi opened the doors for visitors. However, in 1998, the museum was reorganized and got its final look.
Things to see at Fujairah Museum

The first zone reveals the simple livelihood of the Emirati locals. The locals were primarily into pottery, weaving, agriculture, and fishing. It was their primary source of income.
The second hall dedicates to the age-old heritage of the locals. Therefore, you will find classic weapons, like a Khedewi rifle tracing back to 1916. Furthermore, spot ancient clothes and utensils locals used in that era. Additionally, the palm house replica will mesmerize you.
Traditional artifacts are equally interesting, and the museum is filled with such old exhibits. Therefore, spot arrowheads, carnelian beads, and other priceless remnants from the past.
Finally, the other halls exhibit similar antique items. For example, an unseen Ostrich egg (3rd century B.C.) and an old-charmed U-shaped tomb (2000 B.C.).
Entry Fee
Visitors must get a ticket (5 AED) to enter the Fujairah Museum premises.
Best time to Visit
You can visit the Fujairah Museum anytime throughout the year. However, November to March is a suitable time. The weather remains pleasant to explore the place. The Fujairah Museum opens every day (Sunday to Thursday).
Therefore, you can visit between 8.30 am to 1.30 pm. Alternatively, you can come during the evening (4.30 pm to 6.30 pm). However, the timings vary on Friday (2.30 pm to 6.30 pm).
How to reach Fujairah Museum
Located close to the Fujairah Fort and Heritage Village, the museum is easy to reach via car. Thus, if you are coming from Dubai, it takes approximately two hours by road. However, you can avail of the public buses from Dubai to Fujairah.
