Dubai never ceases to amaze us with its awe-inspiring attractions. The world’s largest shopping mall, tallest building, and so much more is there to see in this city. No wonder it attracts so many tourists from all across the world every year. And the latest feather in Dubai’s many-feathered cap is the Museum of the Future (MOTF).

The Museum of the Future was recently opened in Feb 2023. The museum is the brainchild of ‘HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum’, ruler of Dubai and Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE. He established the Dubai Future Foundation in 2016 and the foundation painstakingly created this marvel of technology and construction.

The aim of the museum is to let the present generation know about future challenges and how to find workable solutions for them. Using the forces of virtual reality, artificial intelligence, and other similar game-changing technology, the future world will seek to create a more stable economy and much more hassle-free lives for humanity in general. This is what the museum showcases.

• Timing – 10:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
• Visitors need to book their slots to visit the museum.
• 15 slots are available throughout the day.
• The average time taken to go through the museum can vary between 2 and 3 hours.

You would be amazed to view the building from the outside. The eye-catching design & unique looks of the building reinforce the fact that it is among the most wonderful constructions on the planet. The outside walls of the building contain Arabic calligraphy. This calligraphy also includes several quotations made by the ruler of Dubai.

The museum building constitutes three sections – the void, the building, and the green hill. Oval-shaped and sporting a shining silver color, the three sections represent the earth, mankind, and a spirit of innovation. There are seven floors above the podium. The 7^th floor has an auditorium for events and conferences. The 6^th floor is exclusively accessible by the royal family and dignitaries. The remaining floors each have wondrous attractions to take your breath away.

Floor 1)  Future Heroes

Meant for kids below the age of 10, this is a play area where the kids can explore the concepts of imagination, design, and building. All this in a fantasy setting creates a perfect creativity booster for budding brains.

Floor 2) Tomorrow Today

It’s almost a travel to the future. Get to see the upcoming innovations of tomorrow that will make the life of humans even easier. Check out the new-age jets, cars, self-driven vehicles, automated delivery devices, and more.

Floor 3) Al Waha Wellness Area

It’s of utmost importance to ensure our physical and mental well-being, especially in these troubled times. Al Waha Wellness Area is the right place for it. Go through the various therapy sessions here like meditation, movement therapy, feeling therapy, and more. These are new-age and scientific ways to connect with our inner self and ensure its healing.

The Museum of the Future is located on the Sheikh Zayed Road-Trade Center 2. You can reach it easily via public transport.

By Metro- The nearest bus stop is the Emirates Towers Metro Station 2. Board a Red Line Metro and get down at the Emirates Towers station. Exit and take the link bridge that connects the station to the museum.

By Bus- Bus routes X22, 29, and 27 will take you to the MOTF. Get down at the Novotel Hotel stop and start walking towards the museum.
