New Disney Park Coming Soon in Abu Dhabi
Great news for Walt Disney fans! Disneyland is finally coming to Abu Dhabi. Walt Disney officially promised a Disney Theme Park resort. It will be the first ever in the Middle East. Besides, this theme park will be on Abu Dhabi’s entertainment hub- Yas Island. This new project will mark Disneyland’s seventh resort in the world. So, it is definitely a significant move.
Disney Set to Launch First-Ever Theme Park in Abu Dhabi
UAE is preparing to welcome a brand-new theme park- Disneyland. It will be opening on Abu Dhabi’s Yas Island. It will be the region’s first-ever Disney theme park and the world’s 7th Disney Resort. The news of this upcoming new addition was unveiled at a special event. Hence, now Disneyland lovers can meet their favorite Disney characters at the heart of the Middle East.
Disney’s CEO, Bob Iger, said that the Walt Disney Company witnessed unforgettable moments and remarkable achievements throughout its 102-year history. One of them was the inauguration of Disneyland in 1955. All these years, it has entertained and embraced the visitors across its six Disney theme parks. He is quite excited to celebrate the priceless moments of bringing the Disney theme park to Abu Dhabi.”
He also added that this news stirred a lot of excitement across the globe. Disneyland Abu Dhabi will combine fascinating Disney stories and characters. Besides, the combination of cultures and tastes of Abu Dhabi will promise extraordinary experiences to all.
This announcement was made a few days back on Yas Island’s 15th anniversary by Mohamed Al Mubarak, Chairman of the Department of Culture and Tourism- Abu Dhabi and Chairman of Miral.
Disneyland Abu Dhabi is going to be the seventh Disney theme park after California, Florida, Tokyo, Hong Kong, and Shanghai. The strategic location on Yas Island Waterfront is another great plan. It will work as a bridge between tourism markets across the Middle East, Africa, Asia, India, and Europe.
Furthermore, the theme park will join Ferrari World, Warner Bros World, and SeaWorld Abu Dhabi. So, the position of Yas Island as a global entertainment hub will improve.
Miral will take care of development and operations. But Disney will take care of the creative design and development of the attractions. This joint operation will promise a world-class guest experience. Therefore, Bob Iger named this project a ‘cultural entertainment and technological marvel.’
Josh D’Amaro, Chairman of Disney Experiences, added that they will rethink and design the park by using state-of-the-art technology and visionary architecture. Furthermore, a unique concept of a modern castle will be something that Walt Disney never witnessed before.
Disneyland Abu Dhabi will attract thousands of visitors. This will make Abu Dhabi the Emirates’s best cultural and family tourism hub. As per the latest reports by Business Insider, this upcoming project will be a $60 billion investment in the Parks and Experiences division.
