Fujairah Temporarily Halts Outdoor Adventure Tourism During Summer

Fujairah has officially suspended its adventure activities until the winter season as the temperature keeps rising. Fujairah’s official adventure centre has announced the seasonal closure of all outdoor and adventure activities due to rising temperatures surpassing 40°C in May. Fujairah Adventures, the emirate’s official government centre issued a notice informing the citizens and visitors that the site will remain closed until next winter.

The announcement in the park stated, “Dear adventurers, guides and operators, we would like to announce the end of the Adventure Season in Fujairah, all outdoor and adventure activities are on hold until next winter,”.

The temperatures across the UAE have been surging past 40°C this month. As per the reports from the National Centre of Meteorology, the average maximum temperature in the UAE is expected to fall between 37°C and 40°C in May.

Outdoor destinations across the UAE pause their activities during summer and adventure enthusiasts adapt with the season by moving their activities indoor and going on outdoor adventures during early hours.

The outdoor adventure activities have recently become quite popular in the UAE. Most residents and visitors head towards mountain destinations like Fujairah, Ras Al Khaimah or Hatta for nature escapes and outdoor adventures during October – March.

The park will reopen with the arrival of next winter season, although the exact date for reopening has not yet been declared.

In Dubai, several other attractions like Global Village, Miracle Garden and Dubai Safari Park will remain open until May 31.
