Overview
Dubai has proved worthy of performing many impossible feats and bringing people’s imaginations to life. This can be seen in the form of The tallest building in the world, the Palm Jumeirah, and the World Islands. Yet another example of thinking outside the box is the creation of the Dubai Aquarium and Underwater Zoo.
The Dubai aquarium is home to more than 30000 exotic marine animals and plants, and what is more impressive is that it is the world’s largest suspended acrylic aquarium. It extends from the ground floor to the third floor of the Dubai Mall and is a marvel of modern engineering.
Some of the salient features of this aquarium are the 180-degree aquarium tunnel, which gives you unspoiled views of all the underwater creatures. Then there is the underwater zoo and observatory. One of the major attractions is a submersible simulator that lets you travel virtually amongst the underwater animals and fish. In addition to all this, you can explore and watch a wide variety of fauna like:
- Piranha,
- Lizards and snakes,
- Sharks,
- Crocodiles
Including a giant crocodile that weighs over 750 Kg and is around 40 years old! Additionally, there is a Big screen theatre screening educational films and a glass-bottom boat tour that gets you even closer to the marine animals and promises to be a unique experience.
